ABOUT ME
Nicola Johnston
BSc (Hons) Social Psychology
MBACP (Accred)

I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor using both person-centred and solution-focused techniques. I have a great deal of experience in supporting and counselling both adults and teenagers. I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). This Accreditation status demonstrates that my practice has met the BACP's higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.

My interest in understanding and helping people began with getting my degree in Social Psychology over 20 years ago. Since then I have taken on roles supporting and coaching others. As well as working within my own private counselling practice I have undertaken various roles in the corporate sector and as such I can relate to the stresses and strains of this environment. I continually attend courses and workshops to update and enhance my knowledge.
In addition to my private practice, I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in the voluntary sector: I have been fully trained by the Samaritans to work as a Samaritans listener and I have worked as a Counsellor for an agency in Maidenhead. In addition to this I have worked counselling young people in secondary schools both in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
My qualifications:
BSc (Hons) Social Psychology
Certificate in Counselling Skills
Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
BACP Certificate of proficiency
Enhanced DBS certificate
Accredited member of BACP
