Home: Welcome

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Nicola and I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor/psychotherapist working in Buckinghamshire. I offer one-to-one therapy sessions with both adults and young people (from age 13). I am a registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

The counselling that I provide is completely tailored and individual to the needs of my clients and so I offer either short-term or open-ended therapy. I see clients either remotely (by telephone or video link) or face-to-face in my private therapy room in Beaconsfield.

Whilst reading this you may be experiencing feelings of distress, anger, anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-confidence or confusion. Talking to a trained professional about what is troubling you can be hugely powerful: As the BACP states, 'Counselling changes lives'. Please feel free to email me or pick up the phone and we can talk through your situation to see how I can best support you - I would love to hear from you.

I am happy to work with clients either remotely via telephone or video link (Zoom/WhatsApp/FaceTime) or in person, which ever feels more comfortable. I work from my private therapy room in Beaconsfield Old Town, within easy access of Seer Green, Amersham, High Wycombe, Slough, Marlow, Farnham, Gerrards Cross and surrounding villages.

I am a person-centred therapist. This approach is based on the belief that each individual has capacity for personal growth and change given the right conditions. It is my aim to provide these conditions through support and therapy.

I will offer you a welcoming and calm space where you can share your thoughts, feelings and difficulties confidentially. I will not judge or criticise you. We can work at whatever pace you choose so that together we can find a way forward.

Each person is unique and therefore each client's therapy is different. It is important to me that I get to know you so that I fully understand what is going on in your life. In doing this I can fully tailor your sessions to meet the needs that you have: Sometimes you may simply need time and space to talk about your thoughts and feelings away from judgment present in the outside world; Sometimes you may want a more practical, or solution-focused approach where we can set goals and work out coping strategies and the means to achieve these goals.

For my counselling practice logo I use the image of a pine cone as it is a symbol of growth and human enlightenment. If you choose to begin therapy with me it is my aim that you will experience non-judgmental listening, understanding and empathy so that you feel comfortable to ‘open up’ as a pine cone will do when conditions are right.

Counselling will offer you a chance to process and understand difficult feelings and emotions so that you can choose to accept or change things in order to find happiness in your life.Through my client work I have seen how powerful and effective counselling can be. I am passionate about the work that I do.
